Am I Ready for the Future?

This text will be replaced

Dear Families and Students,

It is that time of year when our students get to showcase their talents in academics. We are ready to begin our CAASPP Smarter Balance Assessments and CSTs in Life Science. CAASPP will measure our Junior Class in English as well as Mathematics. Our students have taken advantage of class time, PTSS Saturday School, and have also participated in full practice assessments for CAASPP. They are prepared and ready. The dates for the Exam are:

Testing dates will be:

  • March 30-31st  CST Life Science
  • April 4th- 14th English
  • April 18th-25th Mathematics

In May our heavy hitters are up for the Advanced Placement Exams. Our students began working for this assessment last summer. We will be administering 1,402 exams which is 100 more than last year and a record amount. They are excited and ready! The schedule for AP Exams:

  • May 2nd -13th

Over the next few months our students and staff will be busy during this testing period. Rancho will continue to offer after school peer and teacher tutoring and PTSS Saturday School for added support. Our Library is also open until 3:30pm.

Rancho has earned respect by setting high standards and on-going support to obtain maximum student achievement for every student. It is my honor to work with the tremendous students and staff that make Rancho great! Rancho is proud of its academic success and our expectations for all students are:

  • They will be empowered with knowledge
  • They will be  College and Career ready

We are proud of the fact that each year our students are accepted at some of the most prestigious colleges and universities in the nation.

I am looking forward to seeing you at our events and activities! Follow me on Twitter at @RCHS_Cougars for the latest news.  Stop by and say hello when you see me on campus.

Thank You,

Cary Willborn

Perfect Attendance Car Giveaway

Achieve Perfect Attendance for a chance to win a new Chevy Cruze!

Hello Cougar parents and students,

To add to the fantastic start to the 2015-2016 school year, we are very excited to bring this information to all of our Cougar families—this school year, every RCHS student has a chance to win a new car! Courtesy of Mark Christopher Chevrolet, a brand new Chevy Cruze can go to one of our students if he or she can achieve perfect attendance this school year! Here are the details:

•    The “Cool to Stay in School” contest begins on August 17, 2015, and goes through May 4, 2016. It is open to students of all grade levels. All students who achieve perfect attendance for the 2015-2016 school year will have their names entered into a drawing for the brand new car!
•    Although there is only one car, Mark Christopher Chevrolet will also be drawing more names from the same perfect attendance group of students and giving away flat screen TV’s, laptops, Xbox’s, and many other outstanding prizes
•    Mark Christopher Chevrolet will also be holding monthly drawings where we will check for perfect attendance for the month and give away some awesome gifts. Last year, for example, Mark Christopher gave away Beats headphones and iPods for their monthly drawings. That’s awesome!
•    Rancho Cucamonga High School is in competition with Montclair High School for the first month and a half of the contest. The school with the highest percentage of students with perfect attendance between August 17th and September 30th will receive $1,000!
•    Official “Cool to Stay in School” rules and regulations can be accessed at http://www.markchristopher.com/Its-Cool-To-Stay-In-School-Contest.

Let’s do it Cougars, let’s set a record this year for perfect attendance and go after that brand new Chevy Cruze! And please be sure to stop by Mark Christopher Chevrolet and give them a huge thanks!
Best of luck Cougars!
